Not made for shelves.
Made for tables.
Bizoe is a boutique label sourcing fruit from small, unique pockets of the Western Cape of South Africa. Less, but more — wines made with minimal interference and a sense of place.
Idioglossia Malbec '20
Stellenbosch slopes, single-site Malbec. Inky, brooding, finely structured — the kind of bottle that quietly steals the table.
“Less is more. Limited quantities, minimal interference, and a quiet trust in the place the grape came from.”
It started
with a kiss.
In 2006, curiosity led Rikus to a small French village called Pomérols. He never came back silver-tongued — but he did return with a single word: bisous. Back home, that word sealed an engagement. And then there was Bizoe.
Today, nestled in the Helderberg with their children, Rikus and Estalet make ten wines — each pulled from a specific pocket of the Cape and paired with a family-style recipe for the table.
Every bottle
comes
with a meal.
Family plays a vital role in the existence of Bizoe. We have paired a family-style recipe with every wine in the range, written for the way you actually cook on a Sunday — so the bottle and the table arrive at the same time.
a few times a year.
New releases, tasting notes, a recipe from Estalet’s kitchen, and the occasional cellar invitation. No spam, no sales talk.
